Hon Life President

Sir Anthony Durant was born on 9 January 1928 and served as Conservative Member of Parliament for Reading North from 1974-83. After Reading's constituencies were reshuffled, he served as Member of Parliament for Reading West from 1983-97. In 1988 he was appointed as the Vice-Chamberlain of the Household. He retired from politics in April 1997 but continued his work as president of  the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust until his retirement in 2009. Sir Anthony Durant is the Life President of Reading West Conservatives.
