Sharma joins City Minister for City Deal launch

Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Reading West, today joined the Right Honourable Greg Clark MP, the Cabinet Office Minister for Cities at Reading Town Hall for the launch of the Reading and Thames Valley Berkshire City Deal. 

Alok Sharma welcomes Huawei funding for Moorlands primary school playground

Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Reading West, has today welcomed the news that the global ICT solutions company, Huawei Technologies have provided £3,500 in funding to Moorlands Primary School to pay for the re-painting of the school playground.Children at Moorlands Primary School will soon be able to enjoy a revitalisation of their playground, with line paintings to facilitate games of netball, mini-tennis, football and basketball. Other games and drawings which will be painted on to the playground include: skipping circles, a skillsnake, Mr Wolf, a compass bullseye, rocket hopscotch, a circular maze, noughts and crosses, a play circuit, a smiley compass clock and a numbered snake.

Alok Sharma welcomes investment to alleviate traffic in Reading West

Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Reading West, today welcomed an announcement by Patrick McLoughlin, the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport, that the government would provide almost £3.5 million in funding to help alleviate congestion in Reading West constituency at two of the town’s most notorious pinch points.

Conservatives Launch Manifesto for Reading

Reading Conservatives have launched their Manifesto for the local Council elections on 3rd May. Conservatives have pledged to freeze Council Tax for the second year running and, following the theme of encouraging local responsibility, promised to hold a referendum on an elected Executive Mayor for Reading.
