As well as being a Conservative Councillor for Birch Copse ward in West Berkshire, Emma was also a Member of the Royal Berkshire Fire Authority and a Member of Thames Valley Police and Crime Panel.

Emma stood down from West Berkshire Council in the 2019 elections and continues to serve as Chairman of the Reading West Conservative Association
